Well looks like my toy needs an engine that isn't wore out lol she smoked out the breather tube' blood pressure was really low after warm up and rattled like a vw diesel
Hmmm...a couple of cans of engine de-greaser, water rinse will clean the bay up. While it is apart, consider taking the single exhaust pipe out and source a 4-2-1 manifold.
Now...Wv- is that West van (BC) or West Virginia? If West Van, I have a 1800 block ready for a re-build if interested. I'm a 4 hour drive away.

I have a refreshed 2L (rings, all bearings, new seals, valves re-seated, new water pump, timing belt, etc) sitting on an engine stand in my garage. It's available if needed.
Well I have a good rebuilt engine but I really do appreciate the offers, as you can see the engine bay needs a bit of attention and the tranny needs new seals, rebuild the driveshaft, and go through the brakes and I should be back up and running only issue is time, busy here so this may take a little while.
Question for the brain trust, on my new engine the alternator is on the left, exhaust side, I would like to move it to the intake side to get it away from the exhaust heat but the block is not tapped there for the upper bracket, I have the oil filter adapter with the lower bracket, and the correct upper bracket but no place to bolt the upper, has anybody successfully moved it on an earlier engine and how did you do it ? Drill and tap the block or ?
FWIW, my 78 has a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold, unshielded, and the alternater is there too. I've had my car over 5 years and many miles and never had a heat related problem with the alternator or anything else over there.
