Outside mirrors.

I have the wedge shaped mirror on driver side but it has given up on staying put. I once had a 78 Mazda Rx 7 with the mirrors on each front fender. I found I could check those with very slight movement of eyes while keeping eyes on road. I am thinking of doing this on my 78 Spider. Any pros or cons? I have never seen them on a Spider.

that was a Japanese thing in the 80's, I kind of like the idea but on some cars it just doesn't look right?? Don't know how'd it look on the spider?

It was also common on some British sportscars of the fifties and sixties. MGs and Sprites for instance.

I personally love the look. My hesitation would be having to drill through the fenders to mount them. (The can also be a bear to adjust!)

Had a set on my long gone 71 BC coupe, installed by the PO. Never quite got the hang of them in 10 years, and generally found them a little too far away for use (even with much younger, sharper eyes). With my current 72 Spider, I've decided to stick with the flag style on driver and passenger side, and like these much better.

When I was younger adjusting and using the fender mounted mirrors was OK but now if I can't adjust them from the drivers seat and have them close by I wouldn't be able to deal with them. It's a pain in the neck dealing with parking lot pedestrians knocking the ones on the doors out of adjustment and would be intolerable dealing with that with a fender mount that requires you to get in and out of the drivers seat several times if you don't have a helper.

The fenders being a bit thin would probable get creased when a passerby walked into a mirror mounted on them.

There are many backup cameras and other small cameras that could be used as rear view cameras. Some are mounted on the vehicle license plate frame but could also be mounted in many other places.

Many buses, motor homes and trucks now have side view cameras.

OK, the cons have it over the pros. Now just need to figure out what is needed to go bumperless for my 78'. I am beginning to like the way they look. Just need to figure where to put lights.
